Questions

Is Company Lookup by U.S. SEC free?

Scrollport has no free tier: it costs $0.0050 per request ($0.50 per 100 requests), paid per use from a prepaid wallet with no subscription. Connecting your first agent adds $1 of trial credit, so you can try it before adding funds.

Do I need an API key from U.S. SEC?

No. Your agent runs it through your Scrollport connection (MCP, the Scrollport CLI or the HTTP API), and Scrollport handles access to U.S. SEC, so you don't sign up with U.S. SEC or manage an API key.

About this tool

Search the SEC's periodically updated company, ticker, CIK and exchange mapping and return bounded ranked candidates without silently selecting an ambiguous match. The output preserves ten-digit CIK strings, ticker, conformed company name, exchange and canonical EDGAR links, and explicitly states that the source mapping is not guaranteed complete or accurate.
