What this API does

Searches titles across everything shared with the connection, optionally filtered to pages or data sources. Needs no ids, so it is the first call against a new Notion connection. Billed per upstream request at $0.0050; one page (up to 100 results) is one request.

Agents select this operation with tool ID notion.search, then inspect its current executable contract before a run.

Public input and output shape

Notion search body. `query` matches titles; omit it to list everything shared. `filter` narrows to one object type.

Teaching errors and limitations
  • invalid_input: notion rejected the request: body.filter.value should be "page" or "data_source"example: {"body":{"query":"roadmap","filter":{"property":"object","value":"page"},"page_size":10},"max_pages":1}
  • empty_results: notion returned no results, which usually means nothing is shared with the connection yetIn Notion, open the page or database, then Connections → add the scrollport integration. Search only sees what has been shared with it.
